Ergonode
Ergonode is a next-generation open-source Product Information Management (PIM) system built on an API-first, GraphQL-based architecture. It enables centralised management of product data, attributes, translations and workflows. It performs well in headless e-commerce and multichannel B2B projects where product data needs to reach a storefront, marketplace, mobile app and partner exports simultaneously.
Why Ergonode
Strengths of Ergonode
API-first and headless
GraphQL API as the primary interface: product data available to any frontend, whether Magento, Shopware, Next.js or a mobile app. No architectural compromises.
Modern UX
Interface built in Vue.js with the daily work of product managers in mind. Onboarding is faster than with enterprise-class systems, and navigating complex attribute structures is intuitive.
Advanced attribute management
Attribute types, attribute groups, product profiles and validations configured without code. Translations managed directly in the product editor with language switching in a single panel.
Workflow and roles
Configurable product statuses and approval workflows allow data quality to be controlled before publication. Useful when working with larger teams or multiple content contributors.
Open source
Community Edition available under OSL 3.0 licence, self-hosted. Cloud (SaaS) edition for companies that prefer to delegate infrastructure management.
Native multilingual support
Attribute and product value translations built into the core, not added as an afterthought. Each attribute can have a value per language and per sales channel.
Polish product
Ergonode comes from Poznan, Poland. Active Polish community and good knowledge of CEE market realities, with English documentation and support available.
A good fit when
- Headless and composable commerce projects: Next.js or Vue.js storefront, or a mobile app pulling data via GraphQL.
- Companies with complex attribute structures and many product variants.
- Multilingual B2B catalogs published to several channels simultaneously.
- Teams that need fast onboarding and a user-friendly interface for content editors.
Consider an alternative when
- Smaller ecosystem of ready-made connectors than Akeneo: integrations with ERP, marketplace or POS need to be built via API or commissioned as custom work.
- No built-in DAM: digital assets (images, videos, files) are managed in a separate system; there is no standard DAM module.
- Growing but still smaller community than Akeneo or Pimcore: fewer ready-made guides and plugins available publicly.
- Enterprise edition requires vendor contact: for more advanced SLA requirements you need to move to the Cloud plan or negotiate support.
What we do with Ergonode
Full platform lifecycle
Ergonode implementation
Configuration of attribute structure, channels, languages and workflows tailored to your product catalogue.
E-commerce integration
Connecting Ergonode to Magento, Shopware, Sylius or a headless storefront via GraphQL API and dedicated connectors.
Data import and migration
Moving your product catalogue from spreadsheets, a legacy PIM or an ERP system into Ergonode with attribute mapping.
Maintenance and development
SLA support, updates, expansion of data structures and integrations as your catalogue grows.
Team training
Onboarding for content editors and catalogue administrators: managing products, translations, publishing to channels.
PIM consulting and audit
Needs assessment: whether Ergonode is the right choice for your project or whether Akeneo or Pimcore would be a better fit.
Integrations and Ecosystem
Ergonode exposes a full GraphQL API through which a frontend storefront or external system retrieves product data in real time. Official connectors cover Magento (Adobe Commerce) and Shopware. Integration with Sylius, Next.js Commerce or a custom headless storefront can be achieved via the API without modifying the core.
Ergonode supports data import and export in CSV, XML and JSON formats. Connection to ERP systems (Comarch, enova365, SAP) is implemented through custom integration work or iPaaS middleware (e.g. Celigo, Boomi). The system supports webhooks, so product changes can trigger actions in downstream systems.
Comparison with Other PIM Systems
Akeneo: Akeneo has a larger ecosystem of ready-made connectors and a longer market history. When a large editorial team is involved and ease of use is the top priority, Akeneo is often the better choice. Ergonode wins in API-first and headless projects where GraphQL architecture and data retrieval speed matter.
Pimcore: Pimcore is an all-in-one platform covering PIM, DAM, MDM and CMS in a single tool. Ergonode focuses exclusively on product data management, with an emphasis on UX and API. If you need a central repository for all company data, Pimcore offers more capabilities. If you want a clean PIM with a modern API, Ergonode is simpler to implement and maintain.
ERP systems with a PIM module: Product information management built into an ERP (e.g. Comarch B2B, SAP MDG) works well for simple catalogues. With complex attribute structures, multilingual content and multichannel distribution, a dedicated PIM like Ergonode is a better choice because of its flexibility and UX.
Summary
Ergonode is a good fit for companies building modern sales ecosystems where product data needs to reach multiple destinations quickly and simultaneously. Its API-first approach, clean UX and native multilingual support make implementation faster than with more complex enterprise-class platforms.
